What this step does

When a product has moving parts or electronics, Mechanism walks you through the considerations a designer with mechanical and electronics literacy would raise, at the right altitude for industrial design, not a full engineering sim.

It covers three modules: Mechanical (load paths, weight distribution, motion, vibration), Electronics (power, motors, sensors, control, thermal), and Material physics (which stresses each structural part bears, captured for later).

What you do here

  1. 1Work through the adaptive questions for each module, just like Q&A.
  2. 2Review the reasoned checklist Lens assembles: it surfaces what to design around.
  3. 3Carry the output forward: it enriches your sketches, parts list, and bill of materials.
